DEATH VALLEY MAP....CHECK OUT LINKY http://www.desertusa.com/who/PDF/DEVAmap.pdf

PLEASE READ.

-- Amateur Radio --
if you can mod your radio to transmit out of band, do it. It is illegal to transmit outside of your allocated frequencies except under one condition: life or death emergencies. In this situation you're allowed to use ANY frequency that you feel will aide you during the emergency.

Use the primary simplex frequency while riding so we don't bother the local repeater users with heavy radio traffic.

If the radio traffic gets busy enough to need more than one channel feel free to break your ride group off the primary. Pre-program these into your radios.

Official ride simplex frequencies:
1: 145.510 (primary)
2: 145.525
3: 145.540
4: 145.555
5: 145.570

Base camp Ham Relay: TBD but likely one of these three: Mount Potos 146.880/pl100.0, Table Mtn 145.280/pl131.8, Table Mtn 447.200/pl94.8

--- FRS ---
Don't use a channel code. This will make it possible for the hams with radios modded for FRS use to communicate with you. Like the hams, if the primary channels gets too much traffic, feel free to change it up for your group. Use this to coordinate, order beer and pizza, ask for help or ask a ham to relay something to base camp.

Primary ride FRS Channel: 10 (no code)

If you want, I can certainly start the Ride Report as the time gets close.

Of course it will begin with JoeFromSF and myself conferencing on how many tubes to bring, SpaFxer and I will be making sure we know where the turnoff to the Hot Springs are, and AVern and I making sure that our lights are working for the midnight ride back to camp.

Oh the memories...
