I've done this ride to the Coke ovens many times and this was the most fun I ever had. Very good group of riders from all parts of the globe made the whole trip enjoyable. A big thanks to sweepers, leads and the ever present photographers.

A group this big is hard to keep moving and can get separated real fast. Rounding up lost riders is always a bummer.
It was nice to see that everyone made it back to the parking lot and were on their own bikes!

GREAT JOB

Goner, Javalina, and Nightstalker went on a little side trip down to the Gila River.

Our real goal was to check out the train trestle and tunnel.

They really don't want anyone crossing onto the bridge.

Scary tunnel

Kids in the Gila.

Train line

I am assuming that this is now unused? If so can you go down the tunnnel? That would be cool... how long is it?

Goner got a big stick stuck in his chain guide on the way back to the Coke Ovens.

Coming down Battle Ax Trail.

This was some up hill.

Studley shows everyone how to kick a Yamaha 426.

Big-E takes a turn.

After many kicks...usafric got it started on the 2nd kick.

My bro used to get frustrated with my 426, seemed like I would always start it within 3 kicks. Height helps.

I don't think NS is done with the report yet and all the pictures are great, but I especially liked some of Goner's shots. Nightsalker has taught you well grasshopper. You really captured the carnage and unending knarliness of this trail. Sorry you missed my faceplant.
