Day, 8. Vinica to Plitvicka Jezera (KRO). 186 kms.

Today was a really special day

We want to visit the very turistic National Park, Plitvicka Jezera. we camp in a campsite near N.P. and near to "secret" war airport.

The day started raining at Kolpa river. Basque people were happy

Nice campsite

we read on this forum, about some "secret" airport of ex Yugoslavia war, near Zeljava.

In Zeljava there are some war planes

you can go there and play

But near here, driving by a forbidden small road, you can find the airport.
There are 3 airstrips going inside a mountain by 3 fearful tunnels.
In Zeljava we meet a local who tell us to dont go there because was ilegal and the police was near.

one of the airstrip

Patri was a little scared here

one of the tunnels

inside

see the form for planes?

Here you fell mix excited and nervous

lot of mine signs in the area

Stay here was ilegal, so we were cautious

Better only ride on asphalt

Patri continue nervous

We rode back to Zeljava to visit the offices and workshops

Tomorrow, Plitvicka Jezera N.P.

Day, 9. Campsite to N.P. to campsite. 20kms

Yesterday, Patris bike start flowing some oil from the top of the engine. some work in the morning. dismount the body, seat, fuel tank..... and press hard some screws that were loose. looks everything was ok

After that we went to visit the famous and very turistic, Plitvicka Jezera, National Park.
The place is really beautiful, but during the summer is full of people.

we visit the park by walk, by boat and by bus

On the parking, we find this "small" bike from a "tall" rider

On the campsite, we met a dutch couple ex riders and we spend a really nice afternoon-night, drinking some beers, eating and drinking more beers
