I had this old bates tail light bracket kicking around in the garage for years. The stocker was pretty ugly.

I got the electrical finished off, gave her some gas, and she fired right up.
One problem though, after cleaning the carb, a couple of pinholes in the float bowl were exposed, and gas dribbles all over... crappppppp.
Got them plugged for now with JB weld, just so I can get in a couple of laps around the block. I guess I'll be watching e-bay for a replacement now. Damm' these carbs are rare & $$. Anybody have one kicking around?

go to Autozone. they have a epoxy gas tank repair kit. it mixes up gray just like J-B weld works great. once it's hard you can sand it and spray a little pant on it. will work perfectly. at lest untill you find a carb. j-B weld will hold up to gas for a wile. but this stuff will be permanent.

great looking build.

oh and you might look into a carb for one of these new Chinese bikes. they use some of the old Honda designs. might be a cheep option.

Wink

The JB weld is holding up on the float bowl for now. Got in a few laps around the neighborhood over the weekend. She's running pretty good. More power than I expected. Pulls stronger than my previous TW200 . Feels like the SL125 I did for my son years ago, as far as size, weight, and flickability go, but with quite a bit more power. I've got my first DMV appointment this afternoon, to start the process of getting paper on it. It's been out of the system for years. Wish me luck!

Well, it's been fun. Pretty much done with her. Got my CHP & final DMV appointments next week. I should have her plated by next Thursday
.I figure i've got about $500.00 into her, including allowing 100 bucks for the initial trade. Not too bad.
