More info please.

IIRC I had these symptoms when my starter relay burned out. Two relays are listed as starter relays; it was the main relay down by the engine, not the smaller relay behind the headlight.

The repair manual tells you how to test them.

Not until I changed the relay.

Is yours working?

If you are looking for a relay for just the fuel pump, it is also behind the headlight (See pg. 7-7 in the repair manual.)

This is what you are looking for.

You don't need to take out the headlight, just remove the side cover.

There is another relay just like it right next to it, inboard. That one is the auxiliary starter relay.

Here is how to test it:

Quote:
From LC8 Manual:

Checking the fuel pump relay
– Dismount the fuel pump relay 3.
NOTE: black/blue, blue/gray, yellow/black and brown cable colors
– Connect the fuel pump relay to a 12 V battery as shown, making sure
you hear the relay switch (nonrecurring "click").
NOTE: the 12 V battery must be connected to the two terminals to
which the blue/gray and brown cable colors are connected when the
plug is connected.
– Use an ohmmeter to measure the continuity between the terminals
A and B.
Reading: max. 1 Ω OK
Reading: ∞ Ω defective
You really should get a manual. It is an invaluable resource.
