Kristi, thanks for sharing your map - I have already found sites I was not aware of that I need to add to my list. Much appreciated.
Happy holidays to you and yours and all of our extended ADV family.
Pat

Kristi, thanks for the map. I have often wondered where is the area known as Texas Hill Country. Your map moved me to do a little online research where I found quite a bit more information.

I have a friend in Fredericksburg, Tom Rowley. He and I produced a book about rural health care about six years ago. He keeps inviting me down. Guess I'm going to have to visit. ... on the motorcycle.

Day Trippin'

I always forget about the day trippin' forum vs just looking at ride reports. I'm glad I didn't miss this one.

I know we all probably think a great deal while riding alone but it is truly remarkable to be able to put the thoughts and pictorial together for the rest of us to enjoy and reflect upon as well. Thanks so much Kristi (and iDave)

Great rr

I really appreciated your ride report and the insight that you shared. When I was a young boy I read a boy's adventure book about a teen going west with some friends in the 1800's to find gold. He was captured by Indians (no offense) but was determined to escape some day and rejoin his friends. The book ended with him still with the Indians, and not really unhappy. His story concluded in another book, which I could not find until some 40 years later, thanks to the Internet. When you said you were going to go to Idaho, I thought, "Oh, man. This is going to be great!" I know reports take a lot of time to write, so I am willing to wait another 40 years for this. If it's anything like your "Roamin'" report, it will be better than the book was, anyway. Thanks again for sharing your trip. It is inspiring.

Sorry about necro'ing an old thread, Kristi. Just found this rr, and wanted to say "thank you" for sharing. As someone currently going through a dry spell, and feeling ineffectual--it was good to read of someone else's struggle. I hope that now, a year later, you find yourself in a much better place.

Happy Holidays!

No problem, Malibu Dan! I had forgotten that I posted this here. I love that boot fence!

Dry spells come and go with everyone, I suppose. Winter accentuates them for me because I can't get out and travel as much. I hope those feelings leave you soon. Change things up! That seems to work for me!

As for the last year: I continually feel like I'm just on the cusp of something great happening. Eternal optimism and hope are my friends. I think of my dreams as 'echoes from a distant land'. They are proof that the reality exists, and so I journey on.

Shamelessly adding a photo from my trip in August to the Wind River Valley..... where the echoes predominate.

"I've learned to compete with it by adopting spontaneity as routine." truer words rarely spoken. Nice job on the rr. Thanks..
