I washed my 4RT after a 29.6 mile trail ride yesterday. The RT is a great trail bike.

Got out for my 4th ride in 10 months. my dislocated knee is on the mend but now requires a knee brace when riding... probably more for my brain that actually for the knee, my confidence and rider fitness is almost non existent !!

Here i am... thinking about the impact to come in my knee joint when i land the other side!!

Out again tomorrow, Sunday, for another test

Barber Festival Trials

Rode my first vintage trials on an OSSA MAR I restored like the one I had when I was 14. Finished 6th out of about 15 in the novice line. If you have not been to the fall Barber event you need to put it on your list.

Got my butt kicked

Yesterday was my second event after moving up a class. The previous was a rain/mudder so it was hard to tell how I felt in that class. Yesterday was pretty muddy, but for the most part the mud wasn't a real problem. The sections were challenging for me but I felt like they were within my reach. I'm in the right class, but definitely have a long way to go before I am competitive in the class. I managed to clean all but two sections at least once for the day and dropped just one point once in the other two sections. Unfortunately, I also managed three 5s between those two sections. One included a crash. I scored a 34 for the day and was thoroughly worn out when it was over.

I hear there may be video of the crash, but I suspect that it looked very much like this:

I guess it's too late to change my vote about riding Section 7. Cracked tibia at the superior tibiofibular joint. Ortho appt tomorrow, anticipating surgery later in the week for insertion of a screw in the cracked bone.

The hardest part, except for trying to move with an immobilized left leg, was watching everybody go riding after the snow melted...

Not good old son, not good. Shore did look painful when it happened.

Don't feel too awful bad about watching folks ride when the snow melted. It was still slicker than greased ice out there for most of the weekend.

Oh sh*t, I broke my tibia "plateau" off back in 02, but wasn't riding a section, just goofing off heading back to the truck, to get ready to score. Since then, it has been easier to ride sections than to walk them, IMHO.

Get well soon, do the PT.

Ouch. I asked Errin (ridenm's dad) how you were feeling when she came though our section on Sunday and she said, "he's on crutches, that about says it all".

I saw more crashes this weekend than I have seen all year (not counting my own! )

If it makes you feel any better, Errin was riding great!

Hoping for a quick recovery!!
