Wha, doesn't everyone ride their rickety 36-year old mini Trials bike downtown on a Saturday night??

Come across with the pics of the National Champ schooling us.

What I did...

Well, after I finished the KTM I decided to mount a new 803 on the Beta. I looked all over that tire for the arrow then figured screw it, it doesn't matter. Hopefully it holds air better than the old Vee that it replaced. Next up is the clutch mod and finally the carb fix. BTW, trials tires aren't that tough to work with. I had read that they can be a real bugger but this one went pretty well, hooray for me!!

Since Gordy and NMTrailboss are currently watching some big show on TV that has something to do with "feet ball" (or something like that), I figured I would post something more important. Gordy and NMTrailboss getting schooled by 2-time National Champion Lane Leavitt -

"Look Lane, Gordy can't turn!", NMTB tattles -

"Ah, geez, I'll show you how to do it. Again" -

All kidding aside, Lane was very gracious and spent several hours with Gordy and NMTB showing them some cool techniques. Great day!

That's 3 time National Champion...1972, 1973 & 1974.

'Twas an awesome afternoon for sure!

Thanks for posting up the pics!

Yup, thanks Brewtus!

We spent over 2 hours in that practice section going over fundamentals, basics and everything else that was kicking our asses! It was great!!

We spent yesterday (before the football game) finishing up the lower sections for next Sunday.

Should be a good time.

Wow. That terrain looks like a ton of fun. It's very different than what we see here in the mid-atlantic area. I really need to get out that way to ride one of these days.

This is an area that we get to ride in because of a very unique arrangement made years ago (before my time) with the BLM. It is "Very Moab-Like" and the only motos that are allowed are club members with trials bikes and only with trials tires.

IMO, it is worth owning a trials bike just to be able to ride out there!

BTW, Come on out anytime!

It's great to hear about land arrangements like that. Trials is so low-impact that you probably leave no lasting impression.

I'm very tempted. I've ridden in northern CA but it wasn't too terribly different from home (just much better). I've long wanted to ride "Moab Like" stuff. More so since developing an interest in trials.

Don't tell anyone, but we can ride hundreds of miles of desert single track or technical high altitude forest stuff all starting within about 20 miles of this trials location.

I like it here.

Went for a 2.5 hours ride on my loaner 321. I'm really impressed how easy this bike is to ride and more low end grunt that I thought possible from a 2t motor.
