KLR 600 Gas tank and/or parts

Hi all,

I've been searching around on here and Google trying to find a replacement tank for my new (to me) KLR 600. Mine has rust in it and I thought maybe instead of Kreeming it I could just go plastic and larger capacity. I know that there are larger tanks for these bikes and from the posts I've read, many are coming from Europe. I just wanted to see if anyone had one tucked away or were willing to sell me (euro or usa). If anyone has a link to an online retailer (my searches didn't turn up squat) then that would be great too. Thanks in advanced.

also, many other bits and parts (eg the side battery cover) I'm looking for so if you want to sell em lemme know.

Those tanks cost around 100 in Germany...

Have you ever shipped something like that to the USA? looks like 15euro to Germany but the questions is what would it cost to get to the USA? Any idea (even rough) how much it weighs?

edit: Ouch! Fedex quoted (on 5 lbs) 122 euro. Thats more than the cost of the tank! if thats the case then the ends don't really justify the means...

Forget about FedEx for international. USPS to Europe generally costs around $55 for a 12lb package (Priority Mail). From Europe, I got a couple of packages this year at around 10-15lb weight, and they were all around $50.

How about Ebay or Amazon.ca (our neighbors t the north get more Euro-spec goods)

@henrymartin,

That's more like it!

I'll give a look see to amazon.ca. I did look at ebay international market but there were only the stocker tanks (as of recently). I figure that if i'm going to go through the trouble I should at least improve the bike :)

Otherwise the link that lowbudget provided is definitely more feasible if shipping is only $50ish. 99euro~130usd + 55usd = 180usd thats reasonable I think.

No its definitely a klr 600 tank!

The seller says hell ship to Europe only.

From what I can find shipping is 35€ to the US via DHL

( http://www.dhl.de/de/paket/privatkun...ebersicht.html )

No idea about customs and stuff, but I reckon there is none for used stuff.

*edit*

I read the wrong line.. Its 45€
