Hi from a first timer on the Sunshine Coast

Yes first timer to this site (not as a lurker) and first timer on my dirt bike.
Picked it up last week and got out for a quick ride through the forestry with my other half .
Yeah and I even stood up ....well for a little while anyway......hmmm.. going pretty slow...but I did do it.

Cant wait to get a few more rides in and join in with the snail trail rides next year...

Well I have lurked there too... I've rocked up on my VFR..kept getting told those tyres wont get you far

Cheers to all, Have a safe and merry Christmas.

Hi PJ, welcome to the Asylum. Join in the fun and the banter and hope to see you out there soon. There are plenty to ride with in this part of the world.

Cheers

Hi PJ and welcome to the mad house. If you ignore 99% of the shit people will give you around here you'll be half way there.

And tell "the other half" to get her own hobby

Hi Pee jay Welcome to the forum and especially to Snail Trails! I have had 2 rides with them now starting out from no dirt / no gravel experience and they are awesomely patient and helpful.

Ps Ghosty, how do you Pee Jay isn't female? I am guessing may be.

Damn you. Oh well, lets hope she's a lesbian and then it will all pan out nicely.

Boo and I get out most weekends.
You are more than welcome to join us any time you like.
We tend to bump around Mt Mee and glasshouse areas, and we regularly take out small groups of new riders.
Drop us a PM and we'll work out something.
I think we might be doing a slow bumble on Sunday.

I'm also going to go on the Christmas breakup ride tomorrow. From all that is being written it might be worth coming along to have a go. If nothing else I'll hang back and I know there are a couple of other new riders coming.
Just have a look for the sunnycoast breakup ride thread.
Hopefully see you out there soon.

Hey Pee Jay,

Welcome. Always great to see new faces on our rides, and to watch as they become more and more confident every time you see them out there (hey Naz!).

You would be in very good hands indeed if you go out with Lupine and Boo. Really great people to do your absolute beginner rides with, as they are very happy to troll along at 10 kph if that's how fast you want to go.

Lupine, I think the weather is looking slightly better for Saturday if you are keen then.
There are a couple of new riders who will be tagging along for the start of an advanced ride, just to get their bearings in Mt Mee.
Wouldn't hurt for a few more new riders to join them?? And maybe have someone to shepherd them???

8 am at Dayboro bakery Saturday morning.

Pee Jay, you would be welcome to tag along for the start of our ride too if you like. (Although we won't drag you along for the bulk of the ride, as we will be doing some hard terrain).

Christ, 1 post and we're already calling Pee Jay a lesbian. Then again, that's about on par for us I think.

Welcome to the family. And I don't mean that in the lovey-dovey, Sunday roast kind of way. We're more like a dysfunctional mafia. Drive bys on 2 wheels, occasionally 1.

Be sure to come along on the Snail Trails rides in the new year. I had my first dirt ride with them, and you won't find a nicer bunch.

Nothing wrong with that Rumble. I'm a lesbian in a man's body

Hi Pam, met you briefly when I was with the Rumble. I reckon you'll double your fun with riding on tar and dirt

Hey PJ, welcome to the party... Your gunna love this place and the people in it. They are a great bunch.
Strummer has organised our Snails Trails Crew and is the man to ask about anything associated with the ST rides.
Lupine and Boo head out most weekends and are as keen as to pass on their knowledge with regards to adventure riding. The Snails Trails crew has quite a large variety of bikes and skilled riders amongst it so there is never any reason to feel out of place. Especially if Capt Slow goes on any of the rides. She is my other half and is still new to riding and having a ball.
Hope to see you on a ride soon,
Cheers,
Johnnie

Wicked

Thanks all for the warm welcome.
Sorry to disappoint - no I'm not a lesbian, As for my other half, well he's already riding with the group, (Grass hopper KLR650) said what a great bunch you all were, so I thought why not get involved too.
(as the fun police...........)
Will certainly get out soon after the silly season and if this rain ever stops

Stay safe over xmas

Cheers Pee Jay
