Drama on the first ride. What happened, do you know why it broke the bead?
Bike looks tremendous, and I sure will be put to a more challenging test than what your back tire allowed...

Ben,
I'm not clear on what you're looking for. With the tank on, it looks finished to me. You wanting number plates or something?

I don't want to spend stupid amounts of money for something I am going to scratch up. PLUS if I make a mold I can produce some for other inmates. Make sense? I wanna duplicate this: ![]() hard to explain but below the radiator is a metal tab used to bolt the TT tank, I would like to use that as a lower mounting tab and then the other is a metal tab sticking out by the airbox near where the OEM panel mounts (both silver tabs) |

Funny, I've been thinking about selling my GS and getting a smaller bike for the dirt. Maybe a 2012 ktm 690r. My bike now is almost 500lbs with full tank and luggage rack (according to an MCN article). I want to be in the sub-400lbs range. Loose all the hard luggage and fancy stuff. Easier to handle the nasty dirt trails on, but you suffer on the highway a bit.
After seeing what you and a few other have done, I maybe on the right track..... Nice thread, though. If you're not careful with your photos, someone may Photoshop you!

Did you figure out why that bead wouldn't hold? I think ebrabaek can help you with fab ideas for the side panels... Dave
