Hi,

Haven't seen anything for a while, so was wondering how things are going with your project.

Also, am curious as to the brand and vendor for the dual headlight you posted in #224.

Cheers,
vMike

So, you have it rigged for shorter rides now, with the stock trim and pelican side cases. How are you liking it now with the front suspension changes? Still putting miles and smiles on it?

Cool. I'd found those, but wasn't sure about the size. I'd love to do this double kit in a 6" version, with them acting essentially the same as the stock kit with one being the regular (dim) version, and two being my bright lights. I can fabricate a really nice custom mount for a twin pair of 6" brackets, by getting some measurements and talking to a machinist buddy that can do the mount bracket out of milled aluminum. Can then get it anodized if I like.

Wonder if there are electronic changes necessary. I've seen where people have had to have their stators rewound to accommodate various things. Any idea if this would be necessary for these? It doesn't say it in the Baja Designs specifications writeup about the lights.

Doing this would get rid of what I consider an ugly duckling front end, and I could end up doing a CF shell similar to some of the ones from various ADV vendors.

Thanks for the replies!

EDIT: When I started looking at BD's lighting accessories for Hondas, the Fuego Dual Halogen Light Kit popped up. This is definitely much more along the lines I was thinking. I like the mount for the 8" duals better than the mount for the 6" duals, but it's a good starting point.

This could also be an option, but appears to definitely require a rewound stator. This is never-never land for me. I haven't ever messed with the stator windings on any of my sleds.

Does anyone have an opinion on rewound stators for custom light applications or even custom increased demand on the battery/electrical system for additional things such as aux lights, aux ports for GPS, heated gear, heated seat, computer charging, etc?

vMike

same same but different

Hey Mofits,

I just shit my pants when I saw your bike. You're not going to believe it; I have almost done the exact same mods to my F8!! Side by side they could be sisters abet mine would be the ugly sister. One thing I have not done but am considering is the single disk up front. With Ohlins front and back plus the stabilizer the bike snorts like no tomorrow thus I like the stopping power of the two disks. I am willing to experiment (that's what the wife calls it) but I would like to know how it's working for you and if there is anything I should be aware of/do/prepare/prepare for.

I'll give it a shot this weekend. It's your fault if the next time you hear from me it's from a hospital bed.
