hell I've been told countless times I'm taking the wrong bike and countless more times the right bike... For me it's an adventure! To get out and get away... see the world... the farkles are mainly meant to be geared toward a few things:
1) comfort... my home for 3 months, I want it nice!
2) protection... hand guards? duh? wouldn't go without it! other things are alot of... hey that looks like that might break...
3) lastly... cause they look purdy...

Not sure if you saw the thread above. Lesson I gleaned from it is that if get bad gas stop and fix it! No one wants to be standing in the shop with damaged piston in hand!

+1 been watching that closely! kinda why I wanna change the header out... make it breath easier if I do get bad gas....

Maybe if you weren't in TN

It makes a world of difference to have a nice, large, clean, work area. My wife doesn't get it, but I am pretty much a freak when it comes to having my garage set up just the way I like.

crash bars and handgaurds for the F650GS twin

this could be fun.... gonna take the plasma cutter out and do some welding and modifying to mount Givi's with the TT tank.

I know you've already got the TT tank, but I'm wondering if anyone has considered building a smaller auxillary tank for the 800GS which sits on the right side of the bike where the exhaust is on the left? Like where I have my tool tube.

I know someone makes them for KTM's. Circled in red are the aux tanks on Ned and Pyn's bikes.:

This was my plan, although I'm not sure how soon I'll be getting to that project. Is there anyone around here who's familiar with making composite tanks, as far as what materials are safe to use with gas? I suppose I could always learn to google.....

I'm gonna shoot Ned and Pyn a PM and see who made their tanks. Maybe we should start a new thread about this and not hijack this one though...

Ned and Pyn's tanks were made by Adventure Tank here in the US. (Ned used to own the company I think.) I've sent them an email to see if they'd be interested/willing to make a tank for us. I'll let you know what I hear.

Yes....... The key is to use Carbon Fiber...no Kevlar...... Then use epoxy like this....

Ethanol is the killer here....not the gasoline...... Make sure the entire inside is coated with resin....so no ethanol/gas escapes and de-gasses the matrix..... Other than that....easy....

thinking about changing headlight out....

posi-tapped into headlight for switching to my fuse box

LED aux lights

fuse box, located where canbus plug would go

attempting to wire all this a) along frame b) under airbox and c) away from TT tank...

back from the painters...

better view.... seems very busy... shouldn't be too bad though

peliminary fitting...

looks like the GIVI's will fit with only very minor modification

for future reference.... the left side frame is very busy with wires! especially ones ive added now....

which makes it a pain in the you know where to fit the airbox back ontop

other stuff like this came in too.... forgot to take a picture on the bike

lastly the wheel is off and being sent to woodys!!!

maybe im just getting better...

.... but the tire came off surprisingly very easy...
