International Motorcycle Show in DC..You going?

Well, it's that time of year. A less than inspired motorcyle show will be at the inconvenient and expensive Washington Convention Center from January 14 to 17.
So, who plans on going, and what day(s)?

Of course this venue is horrendously expensive for exhibitors, so there will be no BMW, Ducati, or Triumph this year unless something changes. I guess they can't afford to do it every year. Was hoping to get a gander at the new Tiger 800.

On the upside, there are some great watering holes such as RFD or Fado. DC is fairly easy to navigate and find parking on weekends. And it's a great opportunity to knock around with a few fellow advriders who are likely to have been confined to four wheels recently.

Are you going?

I tentatively plan to go on Saturday but will change that depending on who is going from the valley. It would be nice to pool it.

I'm thinking Saturday afternoon might be the ticket for me, but I'll probably bag it at the last minute.

Yamaha is going to be there, but I haven't heard anything about the lineup.

I've got to admit, if I know it's going to be there, I'll definitely go.

I might be able to go.

I just never know what's going to happen at the ranch. Would be a nice short trip for me. Coming from Maryland.

BMW, Triumph, Ducati and many vendors WILL NOT be at DC. Go to Manhattan, much bigger, many more vendors, new model intros (tenere) and NYC more fun! I have been to the DC show many times but last year was probably my last. Amtrak is cheap!

How long is Amtrak if it does not snow?

I have faith that the trains will be running fine by then and no more blizzards will come in the next two weeks, cross your fingers!
If anybody wants to go to the big show in NYC, I have a room I am willing to split at the Holiday Inn Express that is less than a 1/4 mile to Times Square and includes breakfast for $190/night. Amtrak will get you to Penn Station and back for $140 from Richmond (Staples Mill Station).
I am taking the 0700 train on the 21st. You are welcome to hang with me at the show or do your own thing.

I'll probably be there on Saturday too. The Super T has been at the west coast shows and is on my "most-wanted to see" list.
