Thanks!

Tile, VCT (Vinyle Composition Tile) the same as used in big box stores like Walmart and Target. It if full color all the way through, and 1/8" thick. Very hard, cutable by scoring with a carpet knife then snapping off.

I remember the good old days of fancy garages and sparkly tools. Man divorce is expensive.

how do you keep fluids from seeping through the cracks if you get a spill?

It is actually more organized now. That photo is out of date.

From this evening:

Almost there. I have a few supplies on the left that I have yet to put away.

The GS is looking better after a frame and motor cleaning:

My new favorite, for now!

Tile Spec

Jim,

A few questions about your floor....

The Home Depot link shows several tile names...which ones specifically did you use....and did you stop the tile inside the door or does the door come down on top of the tile? Did you lay it yourself, if so did you have to use any special adhesive since you would be driving on it? How did you prepare the floor before laying the tile on it?

Thanks

Bill

Hi Bill,

Much of what you want to know is here: http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/s...=128013&page=4

I used the tile and adhesive listed on the first page. The floor was new, so a good cleaning of dried plaster and a fresh mop was all I did for prep. I laid the time myself in about 8 hours total. I finshed the edge at the edge of the lip to the garage . The door is a couple inches in front of it. You do not want the tile outside, or exposed to excess standing water.

My tiles have never budged after laying them. Parking my car (with stickey tires) on it, bikes and drips. It is not very slick, even wet, and I mop it occasionally. I seal it with Armstrong sealer. Seems to work well.

Thanks,

Jim

Cleaning? A clean garage? Really????

I do like your garage, someday when I grow up, I'll have one like it. But dirty....

Hey, next year I am 50! Had to happen sooner or later!

I will try to keep the kid side happy though. There is a NEW GS in my future as well.
