It is a great photo but I find myself growing tired of HDR shots. But I have to admit - they look pretty good. Might just be me seeing too many of them nowadays.

At least it isn't way over done like most...

Thank you. We might want to remind folks that there is a difference between strictly HDR photos and those that have been "pushed" or "popped" by some post processing software. People sometimes confuse the latter for the former. I will post an example here later if anyone is interested.

I tend not to use HDR, but do like the Vivid setting on my Cannon G12.

Not vivid

Vivid.

It is good for these kinds of shots, but does distort the colors some.

The second is pushing it for me..it starts to look fake QUICKLY for me. I tend to shoot alot of B&W and lean to darker images..even if shot in bright sun..to be honest, while I appreciate the stacked images for full frame focus, the same thing holds true for me..when I look at them..they look fake..over processed..I understand why people do it..and on a 8 foot x 12 foot print it works..but on a small scale, something always stands out to my eye..

With color, I'll process to push my histogram to the left a bit..bolder..a tad darker..I think it brings out more detail..

feh..not a photography thread..

I like Jim's Vibrant shots..weird since I like darker stuff generally...now and again, some are starting to get blown out..but happening when it's very bright out, with bright colors..I think it's more a dynamic range in the camera thing..
