Good stuff.

You guys have no idea how hard it is to do this ride with two bikes. First I ride ahead on the 300 two stroke to test out the technical stuff then go back and try it on the 4 stroke that way I get the full experience.

In the video it looks much easier than it is because you don't see us lifting the bikes with a rope. I was being very careful getting through there because that is not the place I'd want to poke a hole in a clutch cover.

Great Pics and story! OK here's a nooby question: Almost 50 years ago I was working on a ranch in Texas (yup...a real buckeroo). We had a terrible time with flats on our vehicles due to the abundance of sharp pointy things. How do you avoid flats in terrain like that?

Why is this the only time of year to ride hard stuff? Are you referring to summer heat?

pointy things.

Most of the cactus spines are not stout enough to poke through a good tire. The agave (century plants) are another story. I also run heavy duty tubes and slime to stop the small leaks. Rim pinches from hits on sharp rocks are the biggest problem in the rocky desert.

Just wondering, did you shoot the video with the Sony Cybershot also? If so, that thing takes nice video!
