Looking good! I contemplated those firestones - they look great on yours.

Say, what ya got going on there with the rear fender? I was staring at mine today and thought I'd like something more less enclosed.

Nice pipes

I'm making some new pipes for mine at the mo too.

I like your mock-up but don't forget to make them the same length or it'll run like a bucket of puss. The twin high pipes look awesome!

I bought a bunch of mandrel bends to make a 2 into 1 header and will make a low slung shorty megaphne muffler out the left side.

...aaaaand now back to jsully's thread the mock looks great! I don't see how that would be a problem at all. Love the ends on the mufflers sans cone like that. Good luck on the engine rebuild. Darn scope creep... gets us every time.

sorry for hijacking the thread

guys,
just got a PM complaining that I had hijacked the thread...

sorry no intention, just wanted to provide some ideas that could help in the building of the purple scrambler thing project...

I will erase all the post in a short while (as soon as I find out how),

apologies again

just wanted to share and help

Haha, no worries! I appreciate the input, as I'll need to short out a rear fender eventually.

Aw shux. There was no animosity in MY private message to you (just to clear it up that it wasn't the OP that PM'd guzzitaco). Just kindly expressed my opinion that the approx 11 or more posts regarding fenders and your bike runs the risk of taking over the reigns...and that maybe a thread of your own would be more appropriate at this point. I hate seeing a good thread get all messy. Sorry. I was in all sincerity trying to help and didn't anticipate it going all public and all. I gambled, tried to help, and here we are... The pics and refs are nice, doubt they need to be erased.

Carry on. So, jsullivan, have you thought about a rear fender set up?

Yep! There's a nice aluminum fender kicking around the shop that my friend is using on his build. I'm thinking of putting something similar on mine, much like boxer odyssey has on his bike.

That is a sweet bike! I love the patina on the tank. Makes me regret painting mine. The paint was worn through just like that. I might have to start cruising craigslist again.

It's mine - link below.

jsullivan - I like wheel sizes on your machine. The Pirelli's look great.

I wonder if you could make a 2-1 header that splits again into 2 mufflers like you've mocked up.

nice

Bugger those guys guzzi - I want to see pics of your fenders - I'm thinking about mine as I read this thread.

Jsullivans excellent build is happening over a decent period of time so I'm sure there's room for a few more inspiring pics that's related to this thread. Nothing more motivating than having someone a bit ahead of you on a bike build
