In Kansas, a title is different from registration. Title conveys ownership of the vehicle. Registration is needed to license a vehicle.

I have never had a title for a pure dirt-bike in IL. This goes back to the 70's.

You can't title a bike without registering it and paying sales tax, property tax, and have proof of insurance. I was once a motorcycle dealer in Kansas.

1985 Honda GL500 - $1000 (Downers Grove)

Date: 2011-02-19, 5:10PM CST
Reply to: see below

This is good running 1985 Honda GL 500 with 22,000 miles that has new Dunlop tires, new battery and a recent tune up and oil change. The choke, clutch, brakes and electrical system all work as they should. The engine does not burn, drip or leak oil. The bike is also equipped with a windshield and has a clear Illinois title.
I am selling this because circumstances have changed and I also own a BMW R/T so I no longer need it.
Cash only - firm-no trades. In person only and buyer must sign title and pick up at time of sale.
Please call 630-476-0190.
Thank-u.

Is a YZF250 street-legal? I thought IL recently decided to mimic IA and not (ever) title "dirt" bikes.

All depends on who you know. Like IL politics.

Yeah, that's true. Not only 'who you know' but also 'where you go'. As Skinner like to point out, you get a lot more "flexibility" if you go to the Motor Vehicle office in Libertyville....

1975 Honda CL 360 motorcycle. Ran good a few years ago but it has been sitting in storage ever since. THAT IS HOW YOU ARE BUYING IT. As is. I do not have the time to try and get this bike running again, used to run good accept the electric start did not work. Nice bike for a smaller adult or woman. Email or call 269-628-6036

I've had hundrerds of dirt bikes, some had titles, some didn't.

The Kawi 450 I'm riding now has an M.S.O. and I never put it in my name, why would I give the fucking crooked IL. goobermint any of my money ?
