lol. Elegant choice of words there, ghost. Colorful...yet accurate. ;) Something does seem bad wrong, don't it? nephew#2 at first thought it was a photo of a front TKC and a rear Big Block. Nope. Rear to rear. It's that big. I've seen lots of tires on lots of dual purpose bikes. By any standard, this thing is f'in huge.

I told you guys that one brand 150 series tire isn't the same width as another brands 150 series tire... lol.

Looks like that same tire in a 130 would work perfect :P

good luck mounting it. Might be worth taking that one to a tire shop.

Will it have enough clearance in the swing arm, and will it clear once it's muddy and that mud picks up a ROCK. It would sux to crater the rear end over a rock or crash because of mud and a lack of clearance.

Well bigdave, we may never know. That big dude whipped the nephews tonight. That is one tough tire. Taking it into town tomorrow. We'll see if Tim's bunch can get it on the rim.

We'll know pretty quick about clearance issues, but I don't think there will be any. The fellas got it 60% on and it looked like it was gonna be OK.

If you can't get someone to mount it for you, let me know because I have a pneumatic tire machine in my tire shop.

Thanks, Dave. If Tim can't get to it , I'll give you a ring. PM me your number. If I can get my bike back together Thurday night (not tire related) , I was hoping to put a good many miles on it this weekend.

Tim's the Tire man. ;) No problem. It is on the rim and looks good. Trying to put the beast back together to make a test run this weekend but I have "office commitments". Yuck.

Not on the bike, but texted you some crappy iphone pics complete with some of my "Instant Cred - Spray-On Caliche". (Yeah. Yeah. I'll chip most of it off before we balance them. But really. Why bother? It's not like I could tell the difference anyway. )

Close up of swingarm She clears easily Dave...

Front of pannier...

And of course the front...It is larger in diameter to me...When SOG put it on centerstand on fairly level dirt, it still touched the ground

Thanks, Ghost. Tires look good.

The only report I can give for a while will be this one as my bike has some maintenance issues that need to be resolved before I put any miles on her.

I rode the bike to Ghost's house for pics. (I don't even own a camera , much less know how to post pics.) Rode conservatively, didn't throw it around in corners. The bike doesn't shake or shimmy. No problems through their rated speed range. No Karoo howl. Turn in seems sharp enough. Certainly not as smooth as a Tourance or Anakee but nothing too bad. All in all, nothing to worry about in the small amount of data I collected.

Sorry I can't give y'all more. (More sorry that I won't be riding the bike till I get her problem fixed.) I was hoping to do about 500 miles this weekend and instead I did 50.

Have you rode TKCs? Just curious how it handles to the TKC.
