Well shit there's a rock path to her left that crosses the water just fine.....

oh wait, prerequisite water crossing shot validates "adventure" status..... Got it....

Doesn't look like a good thing to do to a vehicle that low but to each their own.

I did that on a mountain bike a few weeks ago

I saw you riding through Marlinton as Banjo and I were headed to breakfast. Sorry I missed you in person.

You might be in need of another nice ride in late September.
Well, once to the east coast for me per year is enough. Perhaps next year?

Better late than..

OK, I finally got around to sorting out my couple of pictures...

Here is the bike on Thursday before the event:

ThisGuy and I left on Friday morning, made it to somewhere in VA for lunch at this little place:

We pulled in around 5pm to the motel

We ate with SlipChip, RickG and a few others at the Bear and Bull BBQ on Friday night, as everyone has said, what a great place and what a character the owner was!

We had lunch on Saturday at the place in town on the river

ThisGuy

Rode out to see the Radio Telescope and took the guided tour

Dinner Saturday night

Got on the road Sunday, rode up to Seneca Rocks

And then home.

My cats could care less

[QUOTE=OLDCLARKINN;16202435]Hi All, on behalf of the Pocahontas County Visitor bureau (PCVB), the Mayors Office of the Town of Marlinton, The Old Clark Inn and GoMarlinton.com and its many business members, Thank you for choosing our area for your event. We had a great time talking with so many of you of Friday evening. It was well organized and looked like everyone was having a great time.
Though the MMI is not technically in the Town of Marlinton the amount of business brought to town by your event is well appriciated. We have to apologize for not staying informed about MMI events. If we had we would have been happy to help with the event on this end. We do know our limitations when it comes to larger groups visiting the area.
We can often take a lot of the burden off the organizers. Things we have done in the past include acquiring regional music, catering, kegs of craft beers, bike parades and contests (may not be a ADV thing) mechanics, tire changing and repair and a lot of the little things that no one thinks of till you need it.
We hope you think of us again for your next event. If any of you are in the area or just passing thru, your welcome to stop in to see Gail at the PCVB or me for (our) recommendations on eats, rides, or to just kick your boots off and have a cold one on the porch.
Thanks again.

You know that is agreat idea for next year . The New bar on the site of the old Paddlers Pub is almost complete . Since it's BYOB and there doesn't need to be organized, we don't have to dick with management , we can just show up . The Iron Horse is open in the old Bright Leaf Cafe and Inn.
I would be willing to set it up if any are interested, if a new better spot is not located.
I promise to set up a good BBQ meal , to make up for this years fiasco.
