Joel looking forward to the next ride. Would like to ride the West side of Carrizo, lots of things to see and all kinds of roads to try out.

That's a great route through - Refugio to West Camino Cielo was closed due to a bridge washout a couple of years ago when I tried to connect through. Had to ride around on the 101 and come up from the south.

I am hoping to try and find a way on dirt to the Camino Cielo area from Maricopa/Lockwood Valley. On Google Maps it looks like there's a road marked "6N03" or "Murietta Canyon Road" that winds it's way southwest from Hwy 33, eventually connecting to the "Murietta Juncal Road", which appears to be able to connect up to a section of East Camino Cielo (which, as I found out on a previous trip, dead ends in the wilderness).

It would be a terrific loop to ride a bunch of the stuff around the Rock Inn, make your way on dirt over to Frazier Park (rinconrider and I found a way to get out to the I-5 on dirt, just south of Frazier Park, following the ridgeline from the Rock Inn all the way west - GREAT ride!!), then a bit of pavement out to 6N03, and over to Camino Cielo, down Refugio, and into Santa Ynez for good food and wine.

Not sure if it's possible/private/gated/etc. though. LOVE riding in those mountains north of Santa Barbara. Truly gorgeous!! Nice pics, Joel.

Fu*k! I missed this yet another year. What a shame. Why do I always see posts about cool rides after they already happened? ;(
