Knoxville to Birmingham

Need some local knowledge. Trying to figure our a nice back road (no dirt) route between Knoxville and Birmingham. Not a big fan of highways. Any recomendations?

You can run HWY 11 from Chattanooga to Birmingham, not to bad of a road but I don't know about the rest. I would just get a good map of Tn, Ga, and Al. and just pick the roads as you go.

+1 for Hwy 68 between Tellico Plains and Ducktown. It is a kick ass world class stretch of pavement and from there 64 to US Hwy 411 along the Ocoee River is pretty scenic too. Lots of options depending on how many hrs. you want Knoxville to Birmingham to take.
