Meant it

...I mean that as a huge compliment. Your narrative and descriptions are funny and evocative of the world inside your head as well as around you. But add in all the nuance implicit in a friendship with a beautiful woman, and you're in Hemingway country, my friend. Cheers!

Thanks el orens

I appreciate the praise, especially from a world traveler such as Lawrence of ARABIA! Nice to know you really were not killed in a moto crash.....

We really had a large amount of fun on the trip and then writing the two ride reports about it

Hello neighbor, great report from a ride to an area I keep close to my heart.

I have to ask

What is this?

What is that?

That my friend is a desert centipede curled up and laying on the ground where I was searching for another traveler/adventurer's wallet. Many can bite and are poisonous, this one was very dead, desicated and bleached white by the sun. But in death it still had a beautiful form. The desert is just like the jungle, eventually it reclaims everything...

Great RR !

I read TL's too as I'm heading down to Big Bend next month from Tn. I'll be on a GSA so I probably won't ride that Black Gap rd.

Thanks for all the useful info and pictures.

The good thing is, your damn motor can't read. If it says oil on the container, it's pretty much OK to dump in there.... ED.

Thanks!

I have seen some in my backyard, not every year... but the color did fool me.

Occasionally, their size can be respectable and no, I wouldn't want to be bitten.

Beer sometime?

hey guys...

Santaferider - Yeah we can get together sometime with TL, we can PM each other and see what time is good for a beer somewhere.

Cogswell - You'll have a great time on your GSA in the Big Bend area. I don't know what your skill level on dirt, gravel, deep sand, is but the "maintained" dirt roads should be okay on your GSA, if you have good knobbies on the GSA you might be more adventerous off road....but you can always turn around and get back if it all becomes too much. Remember you are in a desert and be prepared! Have a good time and if there is anything we can help you with as far as planning, TL, me and others here will be glad to help you if we can...

Rofl!!!

Hey Ed,
Thanks for the RR. It had me

from the get go, but what took me over the edge was the 2nd bet and the conversation you had with yourself trying to remember, underwear color and normal wandering man's brain, slipping to the last Victoria Secret catalog, and the last visit to Albuquerque and TouchDown's (aka TD's) then a slap in the face and back to the task at hand.
Hoping to get back in the saddle for some Adventure riding but have to wait until my 3 year old learns to ride on 2 wheels. Hope TL's point and shoot stays in the safety position on your next adventure!!

Cheers, Rick

Thanks Rick!

I'm glad you enjoyed it! I had great fun writing it and LMAO for days! Tiger Lilly did get to see the draft RR before it was posted up and is still speaking to me. She thought it was "entertaining". HA! Make sure you read her version of the facts...

Take care of that 3 year old and teach the child to ride at the earliest opportunity!
