Seems a bit pricey for what's "termed a salvage bike". Still, If the price were lower, and I hadn't just purchased a WeeStrom, I would be seriously looking at this one

I just came here to post it too! I agree on the price. I'm guessing they don't have great resale to begin with and then the salvage title. But at about $2000-$2500 I think I'd take a flyer on it.

This one is pretty cool too:

I was also eyeing the FZ1 for $3995.

1974 Husqvarna 400 WR Vintage Motocross Racer - $2500 (Warrenton, VA)

This 1974 Husqvarna 400 WR vintage motocross racer is a fully restored classic! It was restored by John Fischer, an original member of Husky's racing team in the 1960s and he rebuilt the engine on this bike. John Fischer also appeared briefly in the classic motorcycle film "On Any Sunday".

This bike was fully restored in 1992, never ridden or raced in the dirt, and has been in storage since then (I basically started it up a few times after it was restored, and kept it under a blanket in dry storage since then). It is in excellent original and restored condition and ready for vintage racing or your own collection. If you like vintage big-bore Huskys, this is one of the best around. Frame has been sand blasted and repainted; gas tank finish is original paint.

Let me know if you have any questions or would like to see larger pictures. This bike is in Northern Virginia, so you will have to pay to have it crated and shipped out west, but my asking price is low, and it's worth it for an original condition Husqvarna. I'll calculate the cost for serious buyers.

I don't think it's a scam. For whatever reason, the 1150Rs don't seem to hold their value like the GS or even the RTs. You can find them all day for under $5K. But I agree, it sure looks like a good deal. I sent the guy an e-mail to see where he's located (presumably MD). I've been looking for a naked/semi naked standard for a little while. Between this, the Bandit 600, and the ZRX1200, Craigslist has had a lot of potential over the last day or so.

Edit: He just responded and he already sold the R1150R.

On a related note, a buddy has a late 70s KZ400 that has been in his parent's basement for years (in NJ). If anybody is interested, let me know and I'll see if I can talk him into bringing it down. Sounds clean but likely needs all new rubber.
