Buying a 450 exc

I need some advice on the 450 exc.
like 07 model, is it a good bike to buy, easy maintenance or ?
Reliable motor, what's a good price,etc.
I sold the drz and the klr since there both a little uninspiring.
Any tips good or bad about the bike.
I have a 990 and want something for lite work, single track and such nonsense.
I had a ride on a 450 and liked it, enough power for sure.
Is it true that the 07 has rocker arms so valve adjustments are easy. That is a bonus

Yep, 2007 was a good year for the 450 EXC. Last year of the proven RFS engine, which uses conventional rocker arms and a single oil sump. In 2008 KTM came out with a new dual sump motor with bucket and shim valve adjustment. Good motors but some early ones had problems with oil transferring between the sumps and some other first year blues.

I like the frame that KTM went to in 2008.

Agree. I have 520 hours on my 05. Solid. Two top ends. Original clutch. Clean air filters, fresh oil, and adjust the valves on schedule ( my intakes move .001 every 15 hours like clockwork. Exhaust valves moved when new a little. But haven't adjusted the exhaust in forever. I don't even remember the last time .

Can't find a reason to replace this bike.
