Appreciate the great write-up. Sorry if I missed it but do we know the weight difference between a stocker and the Shorai?

thanks!

Thanks for comps on bike - really looking forward to a ride. It's been under a sheet in CA for the last 12 years and I'm getting her flying again.

I was wondering aloud and rather too quickly, if this new fangled lion technology would make an elderly R bike happy or confused. Went direct to Shorai site and found answer - seemingly a yes.

I am not affiliated with the vendor but their site does say "We are offering them to ADVrider's at a lower cost than you can get them anywhere else."
I didn't say they were offering a discount code, and suggest you can email or give them a call. Very nice folks.

i have one in my 950 and another in my gasgas 400.. the shorai cranked over the gasser no problems at all, which are notorious for killing batteries first try..

the 950 it cranked over just fine as well.. and i let it sit with the key in the on position overnight accidently before i even cranked it... ..

Thanks for the write-up cyborg.

I will be very interested in how these batteries last with extended advrider-type abuse. By the looks of if we already have a decent sample.

Anyone know whether they will sell internationally?

Mine came in the mail yesterday - thanks, Craig for super service!

It's silly light.

Try emailing Shorai and asking them about dealers in Oz or UK. I'm sure they will help.

Almost 3 weeks of daily use so far. Several starts a day, cold temps, low charging rates (slow traffic), high drain (Gerbing heated jacket liner and heated hand grips), forgetting the key and lights on (when messing with TuneECU). Not the easiest life for a battery. So far there has been no indication I need to charge it or even trickle charge it. It still jumps the bike to life first crank.

A voltmeter would help to see what's happening ...I have several on my workbench and been meaning to install one on the 990 since '07

The interesting bit will be to see how it stands up to a years worth of vibration and bouncing about. For example, the attachment points on the battery are notably lighter material than, say, the yuasa. Only one way to tell!
