Hey, my GPS finally decided to cooperate (newly refurbed from Garmin) and I got the track from the Verde Hot Springs attempt yesterday!

The dark blue is what we did. Red and light blue were the goals. We will make it eventually!

And the elevation profile shows that we turned around at near 4500 feet (100-ish mile mark):

Good work YS. I live at 5000' and there's still some snow patches and lots of mud here which is a good indicator of what you encountered. Next time just call me and I'll give you the "trail" conditions from my property.

That Arizona mud can be quite deceptive. I got caught up in some on Spur Cross Rd. North of Cave Creek years ago on a bike with about 900cc's less than yours. I ended up digging through it with my fingers to get the front wheel unlocked from the fender. Good times.

I just read this post Yardstick. Great write up and pics. I like the part where you didn't want your passenger to know just how close you came to dumping it.........that is some good stuff.
