Cry Bike is sputtering and stalling at low speeds/RPM's after oil change.

Did an oil change 3 days ago, switched from whatever BMW uses to Castrol 20w-50 Full Synthetic on the oil and the oil filter/crush washer were from BMW. After the oil change I started her up and she ran just fine, same the next day when I took a short ride (~10 min).
Then yesterday I headed out and she stalled out completely in a low speed turn and started idling very rough before dying at a light. Over all I was on the bike for about 30 minutes, about 10 of it freeway time at 75, after jumping off the freeway both times the bike seemed to run just fine and if it started idling rough i could take up the slack in the throttle to where it felt like there was resistance and she would purr like a kitten, on one occasion it died at about 10 mph after I pulled the clutch in and let off the throttle completely.
When I got home and got off the bike it smelled like something was burning, I'm thinking oil because when I pulled the dip stick out I got a big whiff of it, and the engine just sort of felt hotter than usual.
My oil level is at max on the dipstick and there are no leaks.
Anyone know what could be causing this?

edit: 2014 800 GS, sorry didn't include the first time around.

Question

Overfilled the crankcase with oil?

Why not drain it, check everything out, then refill to the proper level?

Just bought an '09 with 23k miles on it. I've been riding it for a week and yesterday it stalled 6 times while on a 35 minute ride home. I thought it might be low and filled up after the third stall. Got home and let it idle for about 6 minutes and it stalled, repeated this for about 5 more times. Woke up this morning and let it idle for about 30 minutes before I turned it off. Seems like my issue is probably a heat sensitive fuel issue.
Not sure about your bike but it might be worth looking into.
Side note I tried with and with out the canister last night. This morning, no canister. I'll hook it back up today and see.

Question

The only other thing I could imagine is that you accidently knocked off or loosened a hose or a wire while you were servicing the bike.(?)

Definitely didn't do that, I'm guessing over fill somehow, the book says 3.1 quarts with a filter for an oil change and I put in 3 so maybe there was more in there than I though after letting in drain?

It is possible that oil holes are sealed and oil is not refrigerate.

Fuel delivery is most likely the issue.
Clean injectors and if that does not work replace fuel pump / controller under warranty with dealer support.

same thing is happening to my bike. got an oil change....then a strange sound like a washer is tumbling around in the crankcase when engaging first...then it started to stall after 10 mins of running. left it at the shop today they said there is a switch recall so that might be the stalling problem but who knows. ill let you know when i get it back. Highly doubt it has to do with oil level. As suggested see if you loosened something.

More probable fuel related, water in gas?

new battery and a switch recall.....no more stall. voltage could mess with fuel pump. check your battery
