Arctic Circle Dempster Dash

In conjuction with this year's 13th annual Dust To Dawson "Over the Top Hop" several Gruvers are planning a mad dash up the Dempster Highway, into Inuvik and back to Dawson YT, in time to meet with rest of the D2D gang.
Here is what we have tentatively planned.


Saturday 6/11 Depart Anchorage/Eagle River southbound to Seward, AK
Sunday 6/12 Depart Seward, do a tunnel run to Whittier, ferry ride to
Valdez
Monday 6/13 Depart Valdez.. Glenallen....Tok...Dawson City, YT
Tuesday 6/14 Depart Dawson..Eagle Plain, NWT
Wednesday 6/15 Depart Eagle Plain..Inuvik
Thursday 6/16 Depart Inuvik... haul ass.... arrive back in Dawson City to
link up with the D2D riders

Yes indeedy that is what I mean. WTF was I thinking??? Departing Wasilla also includes those Gruvers living at or near the Abbey. Thanks for keeping me on the straight and narrow.

OBTW Are you in for the ACDD??
AK Rider and Globie are serious contenders. If AKR can make the parade we can find someone else to handle the traditional poker hand distribution for the the group that runs the normal D2D route. Maybe Duckman can help us out... unless he decides to "dash" with us.

As a side note.. Katoomer is in Providence for some pre-planned plumbing surgery. Something that flaired up as a result of his superman trick last year on the Spokannonball. I will know more as the day progresses and I'll keep everyone posted. Rumor is that he will be in the hospital for 3-4 days.

I talked to duckman and he said he was planing on a diffrent ride not the D2D but you never know about the duck. also as a side note the first D2D triker is planing her first big ride ( mrs Friar) solo to Dawson take is she will ride to Valdez and tok then a little side ride to Whitehorse and meet us in Dawson. the trike is in the build stages now just got alot of nice shiny chrome in for it

You are sooooo correct about 6/16 being a bit of a ball basher. This is where the "Dash" part comes in. That will be a long day but it'll just make the beer in Dawson taste better. You also need to remember that we have all day and most of the night to get back to the D2D function.
As far as having a parts truck.... we are working on that. One of the reasons we scheduled the "Dash" to take place before the D2D was in case we had any "issues". Theoretically we would have people heading into Dawson who could expedite parts from Anchorage/Fairbanks or bring in a truck/trailer. Obviously we would hope not to have to use it/them. I have a 3-rail trailer that I would like to stage in Tok for emergency use.

Keep us posted on the trike build. If I am hearing you correctly, Mrs. Friar will be in Dawson but she won't be riding the trike "Over the Top" Sounds cool
