He....he.....he

There's a knuckleheaded guy from Alabamie that goes every year.......rents a semi-fancy room on the beach, drags his old lady down there with him. I usually run around at night on my scoot........and then go crash with his old lady in the motel during the day after he leaves to go riding all day......ain't been caught, yet.

Oh, hey Zammy...........

(I trailer down Wed night before the last weekend of BW, tent camp in Deland at the old KOA campground.......fairly quiet at night, and they are VERY biker friendly there. Good people, and most of the campground inhabitants are respectfull of your "space" and "quiet time". Sure, it's a 15 mile ride to the Speedway from there, but that's why I go to BW.....to ride!! Yes, got down into the 30's at night last year..........the term "frosty balls" took on a whole new meaning that trip.)

Hey Jon! Honestly, it gets to be a blur after a while.

Heck I had a KLR 650 tech day at my house a few years ago and all the attendees arrived and asked where my KLR was? I pointed to my 2001 LC4E and said I dont have a KLR!
I will be down there the first weekend for the CCS races. Anyone who might be and want to hit Hooters for some hot wings just lemme know!

I have posted a link below to another ADVrider thread for those coming down to Daytona BW and camping in the Speedway Infields. We should narrow down the vicinity of where we will camp/meet up so that we can all find each other as we arrive into Daytona BW.

I called the track today and was told that TENT camping was available only outside the track. Cost was $100.00 for the entire period, must be out by noon
Sunday after the races. Pay when you arrive and register.

I would not listen to any of them. You can call five times and get 5 different answers. Try it. Trust me on this as I've been there and done that.

Infield camping is available and free when you have a valid ticket for that day's event. If you arrive after hours, you have to purchase next day event ticket. They will have one ticket kiosk open late every day.

As an example, my buddies and I got wrong information about where we could camp when we arrived around 9:00pm last year. Two of the guys watching the gates to the speedway infields knew nothing about infield camping. We finally found one guy who directed us to a little kiosk selling tix for next day event.

They are also listed on the BMWMOA site as running it. Great group of guys. We ran into some of them at the Savannah Rally in December. I plan on staying there.

PERFECT! Looks like whomever I talked with at the track didn't know what they were talking about. Thanks! See you there.

Unfortunately, it is not that quite easy

Depending on who you talk to or run into at the track, they may tell you something completely different. I normally print out the page and take it with me so I can show it to the multitude of gate guards and ticket agents that all have different explanation on the FREE ORANGE TENT CAMPING area.

I have been going down to Daytona BW for the last 4 years and it never fails to amaze me how often I have to explain to DIS staff what DIS own web site states. Keep in mind that in order to confuse this issue even further, DIS actually does charge for tent camping during Daytona 500 which is right before the Daytona 200 BW. I believe the reasoning behind not charging during BW is due to lack of large crowd and that Honda being a major sponsor may partially offset some of their expenses. Just my thought.

That maybe correct as the pricing is for the admission to the events via the Infields or General Admission from March 8-13. The term "with access to the orange camping" meaning that it is free as long as you have the daily event tix.
