Event Location Change

Hey folks,

Oleary and I have made a change to the Event Schedule. We moved the Mt. Nebo event to Mt. Magazine. There were several reasons for moving it to Mt. Magazine but the main reasons are as follows:

* Mt. Nebo is right next to Petit Jean so we wanted to spread out a little.
* Mt. Nebo doesn't offer anything for trails but Magazine does.
* Magazine has a larger camping area than Nebo.

For those who want to check out Mt. Nebo anyway, you can ride from Magazine to Nebo in about 30-45 minutes.

And if any one will be looking for restaurants, Mt. Magazine Lodge is a good place to eat and "Shirley's Outback" has even better food and fuel, only about 5 miles from the campgound.

As for the new AR ADV Rider Event Schedule, we simply changed the name on the Nebo page to Magazine. All of the names and attendance status are the same, so if you get a chance revisit the page and update your status.

Event Schedule: AR ADV Rider Event Schedule 2011

Unless very special circumstances involving a blonde, I quit camping when I was released from the Army. Was asking about what someone like me is to do about sleep options.

This thread was initially set up for camping outings. We included the SLAP because it is a major event that will take the place of our monthly camp out. If you plan to attend any of the camping events, to which you are more than welcome, you will have to make your own arrangements with the park if you are not camping in a tent. You can access park info on the links that DRZCharlie posted or on the schedule. A link to each park is in the Park Facilities link for each site. Anyone who is planning on camping in a tent put your name on the sign up spreadsheet and we will make sure we secure enough campsites to accomodate everyone.

Petit Jean Campout

I created a new thread for the Petit Jean Camping Event. Hopefully this thread will serve as the information hub for the Petit Jean campout. I just uploaded a ride report from our scouting party this past Friday within the thread. We'll continue updating it when we get new information.

Dave
