Mt Magazine Dayride

Here is the dayride for the Mt. Magazine Camping Event. I am planning on trailering my bike in Friday night and riding the dayride Saturday. I sure hope some of you all show up. Need some Central Arkansas riders to participate. Here is the route.

I take it the harley comment is directed at the fact that I am trailering my bike? Riding down, riding Saturday, riding back is a lot of riding for this old man! Brain turns to mush after a couple of days.

Way to go Toyman! Got some camping gear to check out I take it. Might have to ride with you on Friday so as not to let you make me look like a woosy!

It was low hanging fruit, I had to.

I am hoping to attend, especially if the nights are like tonight, and NOT like a couple of nights ago ( humid as hades)

my brain is typically mush, so yeah I do understand that.

I called the Magazine visitor center about camp sites. The only sites available are the overflow. There are 6-7 total sites in the area and we can put 2 tents per site. Maximum 8 people per site. the cost is $10.90 per night. the girl at the visitor center said the overflow doesn't normally fill up except if there is a big group like boy scout troops. The site cannot be reserved. It's first come first server.

Cove Lake too

Cove Lake has a decent campground, and is just down the hill from Mt. Magazine on 309 (10 mi). Odds are the Cove Lake sites will be full too, and I don't know if they have overflow down there, don't think so. The overflow up top on Magazine is fine, IMO, you just have to hike to take a dump. The ride down to Cove Lake is short, and the swimming in that lake is great after the ride! Wish I could go, but off to sunny FL for a bit.

Shows to be 97 saturday and 99 sunday for the Ft Smith and Mt Magazine area. Almost too hot for snuggling or spooning at the camp. .....almost.
