What tires are they allowed in DAKAR?
After watching these guys haul ass through all sorts of terrain i was curious if they are only allowed a certain number of tires,, or specific tire to get through all the stages..
I guess i am curious about all of the vehicles but mostly intrigued by the bikes as they never mentioned any tire troubles in the motorcycles. (of course alot wasnt mentioned being that VERSUS coverage sucked) Are they allowed some sort of tubliss systems? TIA.

you can use any tyre you like, no restriction though the vast majority use Michelin Desert & Michelin rallye mousses

Thanks, besides wanting to know what tires i saw a short blurb on Versus that last year someone (Coma) was penalized 6 hours for tires. But they didnt go into why or what and i didnt really follow the race last year because i didnt have Versus to watch the highlights on.
