Dang. I knew my pic posting skills leave something to be desired, but is that pic backwards or something?

As far as mileage goes, I'm thinking it depends a lot on tire pressure. I've been running 28-30 on both ends because I don't ride far to the Forest Service roads around here. But when I ride to those roads (maybe 40 miles one way), I go pretty fast....70-80mph. So, my thinking is that I'm running on the fat flat part of the tire and not getting good mileage because of that. So, on my trip, I plan on running 34F 38R loaded with bags and stuff on the hard road and 30/30...maybe 28/28 if it's soft, on the Trans Lab.
Comments?

JustBOb,
My 2 cents... I run 40r/38f and got a little over 3k on my D606. Figure 80% slab 20% gravely goodness. My street riding is quite spirited... Tried 26/22 while in Death Valley. These bikes are quite heavy!! (not to mention the hp) High speed highway/lower pressure will certainly cook off a tire!! (I ride @70+ on the slab). My buddy killed his new 606 in 40MILES!!!!!! transferring to another dirt section @ only 26psi!!!!! (he now refills before slab sections ). Takes 3min.BB (dang that thing is a monster) goes on today, I'll be doing 550-650 miles a week commuting and dirt on the weekends. Report coming in... .S.
