Nope, I like the changes in perspective. Makes it more interesting. The helicopter effect though

The helicopter effect comes from whacking trees :) I nailed rather more than I like. It's a much better effect without all the tight quarters.

Also, fast travel tends to orient the camera to the back, as evidenced in the street version

Anyhow, the bike is running well- need a better carb tune, but got rid of the lean popping, and most of the idle hang. Pretty much 100% gone, just happened once real briefly right before end of day.

Still need to figure out tach, and headlight was acting wonky.

And I'm having dreams about putting one of those Ktm450 rally fairings on it

Great video...I was wondering how you could adjust it while riding but then saw the result...

I bought Matteo's bike last year. It has 45mm Shivers off a 2004 Husky TE450. The triple clamps are from HPMGuy.

Here's a droolworthy pic I saved of a fairing that went on ebay a while back. One-off AfricanQueens apparently, went for 700+ euro.

(Rest of the bike is kinda nice too. )

we're off to Magnum Opus rallly next week. Its a sixteen hour pull to Newberry, Michigan, in the Upper Penninsula. WHere I have booked a room at the uber luxurious Americas Best Value Inn for four nights.

Here's the FB page of the rally, for your interest:

https://www.facebook.com/MagnumOpusProRally

We're not really expecting much in the way of night stages, so Im not going to go nuts with lighting.. I'll try and hook up some extra PIAAs I have, but Im happy to have just gotten the standard headlights working and the blinkers. And the horn. FInally got the side covers back on, those things suck.
AND I got it inspected;

What remains: organise the speedo/odo. I am guess I will use the ICO unit from the other nav gear, since it is pretty robust and easy to read.

New Front tire. Michelin Desert front is cupping badly, so will change it.

Rear will probably be ok. Its supposed to be hard packed-kinda like Rally West Virginia, and not like sandblast, so brand-spanking new tires in back arent going to make or break me.

It wouldnt kill it to give it a real carb balance.

Pull together the last minute stuff: SAfety triangle, first aid kit, bug spray, extra tube and tire stuff, dual bike flashers, trail mix, cliff bar equivalents, dont forget your boots or helmet, gps to get to the UP, enduro roll chart, iphone charger, computer and camera shit, which tools, battery charger, gas can, check the spare tire on the car, check the tires and wiring on the trailer, make sure the CC companies know youre going on walkabout,

Its doing funny things with its new harness.. like for some reason the headlights wont work, except on flash. pulling and reseating the relay got it working.. but basically everything is requiring a good bit of caressing.

Overall it feels really good. I think its ready for action.

Here's to a solid finish

I'll be in North Carolina driving a new to us car back, 04 outback. Then preping to leave for Telluride on the 25th. Looking forward to seeing pics of this one....I love the UP and yoopers...you will too!

Heck no, they were just going a mile up the road to the shop to get stickered. NAh, right now its just me, going, although.. unless I can continue to talk my friend Jeff into coming with me, I'll probably share a room with J.J.

I'll do my best with pics, and I expect that same!!

PS- thats not the trailer I'll be taking either- I'll be using the little single rail

Good Luck Jason!

Have Fun, Go Fast! Don't Crash…though not necessarily in that order
