It is perfectly normal, indeed
Like just yesterday, I spent almost an hour getting the water pump to work on the whet stone grinder, so I could sharpen the half inch drill bits so I could finish punching holes in the steel staircase stringers of the fire escape to fix the steps so that I can FINISH PAINTING THAT PEICE OF SHIT that for some reason :rollseyes has taken a week and a half ot accomplish. Cant imagine what the holdup is. ![]() ANyway, I hope to put the finishing turns on the bike this evening, and am planning on testing riding it into trees all day tomorrow, which I have off, thankfully, and a week from tomorrow is the GS Trials at the MOA. Here are the track rules. EASY, MEDIUM, HARD... YOUR CALL To make competition as equal as possible, the points you win on the track are adjusted according to skill level and bike weight. GS Giant Track Competition scoring There are three levels of track challenge: 1) Easy 2) Medium 3) Hard There are three weight classes: 1) Light (under 350 pounds) 2) Middleweight (350-500 pounds) 3) Heavywight (over 500 pounds) (<-thats me) The track has 6 sections. Scoring formula: Riders start each section with 5 points, and lose a point with each touch of foot. Falling costs five points. A max of 5 points can be lost per section. A perfect score is 30. The point totals for each section are added together and multiplied by the Degree of Difficulty Factor, which is defined by the track challenge level the rider selects and the weight of the rider’s bike. A series of 3 elimination heats will winnow down the riders to the final 2-3 riders in each class. Points are scored in each of the elimination heats. If you’re a big dog rider and didn’t get a chance to rack up points in the Adventure sections of the GS Giant event, here is your chance to even up your score. There will be a “Do or Die” bonus challenge for each heat. Riders must get all the way through by any means possible. There is no penalty for foot touch or falls, but no points unless the rider successfully completes the challenge within the 60 seconds allotted. Its the most bizarre feeling... this particular event gets my heart racing like enduros and rallyes do not... my heart rate doubles and I just cant stop it! I think its because I know I'm not winning anything at rallye and enduro, but this one I kinda want so its freaking me out and I have to calm down about it. :sheesh

This is all I found from last years. Its kinda tame... The guys from Rawhyde supposedly designed this years, and I've done the one out there... so maybe it will be tougher? I should hope so.

coulda been a fluke
Did you happen to see the guys on that team? I'm hoping ot not get knocked out right away. The good news is I finally just got everything squared up on the bike. shaft is connected, boots are on, wheel's back on, brakes work... just put about 20 miles on just now to see if it would fall apart immediately. No such luck :hahaI also took apart the throttle, and at Chris's suggestion (Eurotech) I cleaned up under the throttle tube. SOmehow at the end of it, I had a ton of slop down at the carb ferrules, so I tightened them up a bit and off I went. It seems ... better... than it was before. After lunch, I'm going to go into the woods

that course in Redmond got tamer as the day went on,,the stuff in the vids show the humps beaten down quite a bit from the morning runs at "practice".
One guy dropped his airhead in the water, it layed there for a bit, then he yarded it up on it's hooves, and fired it up. Water shot out of both pipes 3 ft. in the air! He rode it out of the mudhole steaming and smoking !

I just love the fact that you did it on an airhead against 18k machines. I bet that's gotta rub some people raw. But like my mom said " you can't buy taste" well, in this case, talent.
