Thats a hell of a mud hole, did you have to bring in the ROver to winch it out?

I keep trying to get my friends to race their airheads, but nobody seems to be taking me up on it Cmon Guys, they're still making parts for the!

OK though I think Brad and Jenna are in for next year's Sandblast. Maybe Shawn, also- I have already goaded him by telling him no oilhead has ever finished Sandblast. THat got him interested

At registration.

One of the many reason why I my time sucked... I kept missing the damn turn signs, and as I tried to do a 180 to turn around, the damn bike just fell over (all by itself)!!!!

DSC00330 by louisianazouaves, on Flickr

Here I am at the break right after the "7 mile skinny run." Oh hell, that stretch of woods busted my balls!!! But I finished it in one piece, and didn't break anything on or off the bike!

And the final run of the day... On the "slightly" whooped -out section. I was stuck big time! But I remember what Jason told me earlier (yes, this happened more than once!), just tip the big pig over, rotate it another spot, and then pick her up. What he failed to add was that I needed another person to help me!!! THANKS JOSH!!!!!

And lastly, the Four Amigos at the camp site! What a awesome weekend!!!!

Again, thanks to everyone who coordinated and ran this excellent event! We'll see you again in a few short weeks!

Just last Monday, I stopped at the m/c shop (my Friday gig) after work at the wood shop, and the boys had just cleaned the carbs on a 89 GS. They said "oh good, our BMW test rider is here!" so, of course, it took the black and yellow cow for a run around Brattleboro. Wow! A GS that is light and nimble! I'm hooked, am in big want of a PD, but the money tree is bare and I know of a sweet deal on one not far away! So, who wants to buy it for me? Christmass is coming! And I don't want to sell the Hex head.

I`ve got a Xchallenge, which I wouldn`t like to do anything longer than a one day trip on, plus an 1100GS which is a great bike, but is getting too heavy for my arthritic old body to manhandle around the dirt. It`ll be back to an airhead soon; I`m looking for a rough one that can be rebuilt to my ideal.

I want to go Racing. I got an urge to try as hard as I can. I've been working out,and feel pretty good. MAN I WANT TO GO.

http://sandblastrally.linaracing.com/2012/

Its about a $260 entry fee, if you get in early. Its another $90 for annual NASA membership and racing license.

I'll personally contribute a few banana nut cakes to the "Get Brad and Jenna Racing" bakesale. We have 3 months to prepare.

Doode, are you nuts?!! I don't think I have the stones to race Sandblast. I've barely ridden in sand, I mean, how sandy are the roads? Had no idea the entry fee was so steep. This maybe a "I turned 40" thing for me which would be 2013 Putting all my pennies into frame bracing and fork swapping.

But you're right, I do want to try.

Well, thats perfect. You'll have ar ace ready bike next year Ready to run the regular sand roads at the fastest pace you feel comfortable riding There's really no pressure beyond what you put on yourself to go fast. Thats partly why I kinda like it. It doesnt say "make this triple jump or die" its basically "where is everybody?" and you can just cruise along, following the route. Maybe at the end of it when they tally up all the times you might have dallied along quicker than somebody
Expensive, sorta, but good bang for buck. It really adds a final "e" to a weekend Rallye. Lots of good people, and you really do learn a trmendous amount in a short time.

Its difficult to do very well, but its not really specifically difficult to do... Figure a spirited 200 mile day. I would love to try a frame braced reforked airhead.

Think of the applause at the spectator points Whhhooooooo

The roads are sandy. How sandy? Well, theyre sandy

Gone-Native dude you are so ripe for this. I bet you Mike H and I would be an easy tow down there. He's got a double size cab.. I bet we could stick two bikes in the back, and tow the single Like I said, three months WE need to sell a hundred bucks worth of cupcakes a month till then

ADK- I would make myself carsick riding one those things. Buddy of mine had one, he was scaring the shit out of me the way the thing lifted in fourth gear, screaming like a banshee in the parking lot :holywtf

These are only 6.5 hp. You have to be smooth and keep your momentum up to be fast.
