The new one fit right up

I dropped the fork fluid, and am going to swap springs and oil. WHile I am there I think I will just disassemble and see if the upper tubes have any banana to them.

Transmission, on the other hand, worked like a charm! REally like the higher fifth. I can definitely tell a difference, much more so than the lower first.

Do tell. Did you get the 5% higher 5th or the 10% higher? How did the engine handle it? Could you tell a large difference between to two gearings or not much?

Very nice Jason. Veddy niiiice.

THere's more than one higher fifth? I'm afraid I only thought there was a 5% higher one... we'll have to ask Anton to be sure, now. All I know is thaat when I would shift into fifth, the bike settled down quite well, and took the hell off!

It was a 17.5 degree, that much I know, and the box got a new third gear to match up...

I would expect no less I would assume cruising was fine ... how about bursts of speed like passing ... did you notice any change in the bikes ability to get up and go? Any lag? I assume from your enthusiasm that there wasn't any noticed ...

No no it passed quite well, actually. I was pretty impressed with the whole drive train, generally, from the bangers on down to the last big gear in the back. It wasnt even that spooky without the fork brace, honestly.

I just love this bike, It can really take a punch! My ribs still hurt a bit

NO really it had just tons of power, even loaded for touring, which I havent done in a dogs age. WHich also no doubt contributed to the yard sale :(

Did I put this here, yet?

AND, you kept up with Ned, Dakar Racer, with no trouble..... Well, until that rock jumped in the way of your rear wheel.....

I was VERY impressed

It's power seemed just fine, all around, I mean, following you on the Rhino(R1200GSA) passing folks on the slab, seemed to have the same pull

Such a cool bike....

New gear set??

Hi Stagehand.. Quick question for you on the new ratios:,, It seems there is little question that the taller 5th is a worthwhile improvement. Am I correct in reading that you feel the lower 1st is less so though??...

I'm not unhappy with # 1 ratio on my BM's and so it's the 5th gear upgrade that has my greater attention. Don't know if you've already answered this somewhere but with the benefit of experience and hindsight, would you go the lower 1st again, or stick with the standard ratio?... Cheers:)

Thanks for your video's btw :)

Good sir, I have only a short experience with them at this point, but I can offer you this, which is a poor paraphrase of what Anton and I were discussing... Of course I wanted the lower first, because who doesnt love grunty bling, but obviously the 5% difference would be potentially negligible all things considered. What sold me past the pure desire for it for the sake of it was the rationalization that despite the fact an extra 5% wouldnt really be called upon in most circumstances, certainly not as much action as a higher fifth, that there was no good reason for me, personally, to not have the extra little bit when you need it, that might just make the bike get through a particularly disagreeable section. Cost is more or less incremental when the box is apart for a new fifth, anyway.

thanks on the videos...

Dont remember if I posted this one here or not but its the post-crash repair party.

Flanny, seated, UNgaWunga touching wires together and Gone Native and Neduro taking off the roo bar. I'm not sure who is holding the bike up ANd the_babaji did hte camera work
