give us a front end shoot out
GREAT IDEA.

Since it's still fresh in your mind, what were the road conditions of each stage like, sandy, loose gravel, dirt mud, pot holes etc, just curious and maybe your thoughts or running each??
I have video of every stage on day 2

MOstly gravel with a good bit of hard pack underneath. Occasionally stoney (flat stones, though.) Some pot holes to keep you looking. Some deep, thick gravel on the some corners. Sometimes a bit muddy and slick, also basically only on the inside of corners.

There was one pavement hill climb stage, we ran twice. SS9 and SS13. It was about 3-4 miles I think.

Occasinally there were areas of loggin that were essentially sort of loose dirt all torn up with truck ruts in them.

There was one awesome hill section that was basically a logging road , steep drop off on the left, and you could just PIN it. Both Jenna and I were probably in fourth gear open to the stops and gasping for more. THAT was cool as hell.

WWHHHHHAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUU the twins were screaming

Well, obviously mine was better

Haha, no really, I have no idea how I would compare them. I liked mine a lot. I didnt change any setttings from where I set them to begin with. They seem to be floating pretty smoothly over almost anything. In fact, the worst surface to ride on is pavement, hehe... you can feel all the things that are normally felt as rough terrain lol I mean on smooth surface, all the bike's vibes show up :rattlerattle

We even forgot to get an AIrhead Rallye Team pic :( Although I do have a few of her

So I take it you made it home okay! Again, thanks so much for "walking" me through my first Rally Moto.....Kurt and I had a long conversation about pumper carbs on the way home. I was in 3rd gear on the back side of straight creek passing Anders!! I wanted and needed more the whole rally....I've never, ever felt that way about this motor. But when it's pinned in 3rd and you aren't going any faster, it's very aggravating.

I don't want to muck up Jason's thread, but I didn't even once think about my forks. I did hit one of the washouts on the Middle rd stage and thought I may have shook my bearings loose. My forks performed flawlessly...I couldn't ask any more from my suspension. I did have a biff on the pavement stage. Lost the rear at about 50, low sided on the right, ground through the valve cover and that was it. spun the bike on the head, picked it up and carried on....JJ crashed his HP2 on the next corner and stuffed it under the guard rail!!! bent the subframe, and lost the tidy tail (turn signals and plate), and bent the shit out of his exhaust....gotta love an airhead. my crash was cheap.

I'd have to say the terrain was varied, but I don't remember any sand!!!

GO ahead and muck it up. More the merrier. You did REALLY WELL, especially for a first time out. Awesome job.

I always want to get right back out immediatley and do better. I keep thinking "THEN I was scared, NOW I want to get back out there and do it RIGHT!" heh

Hells yeah! Thanks for posting the vids, that's awesome, I can't wait to get my riding chops back into shape enough to ride off road like that, not sure it will ever happen, I'd have to become anorexic to drop enough weight for racing (damn wisconsin and all the good beer and cheese). Maybe in a few years I can give you some competition (I can dream, can't I?). Thanks for giving my dream riding some material!

Btw, I seem to remember reading in one of these threads somewhere that you work in theatre lighting Jason? If you ever have any ETC gear that needs fixin', let me know I work in repairs at the factory.

And, what mirrors are you guys using? Me want, mine are a blur at over 40mph.

You work for ETC? Thats awesome!! I have 2 96 Sensor racks for stage lighting, and DR12 for house lights on a Unison system. Stage lights run by an Ion. OUr other theater has a single 96 and an Expression 2X.

Also have about 150 S-4's of various flavors. I love ETC! How funny, I've been a big fan of that gear for years and years.

The mirrors I have are by Doubletake.
