FYI, it started raining in the middle of the night. No we did not have the rain fly on the tent. It's more fun to put it on as needed.

Today was an Awesome Day

Awesome trip guys!

Found it very cool in Namibia that there are so many old and beatiful rusty cars on the side of the road. I recognize this one from a trip in 2009.

Did you get the chance of eating the famous applepie in Solitaire?

Keep's posted!

That's what I posted on their blog yesterday. But I suspect, at their age, they've never seen one of the older Popeye cartoons that Whimpy was in.

Re: rainy season.
Hey, I'm sure you are realising this by now, but my sister in the SW corner of Zambia says that the roads are going to be muddy and that some of the ferries over the rivers will be closed till the water slows down a bit. Have fun in those giant puddles. Her husband drowned a Land Cruiser on the road to their house a few years back.

I cant wait to do a trip like this. Your calm is insperational.
What inspired you to go with the 690? I think I would prefer a simpler bike in these conditions. I like to be able to fix stuff with low tech tools.
I loved your three months on a Husky report.
Good luck and don't slap the wildlife...

I guess riding through desolate areas makes Internet updates difficult. Hope all is going well with you guys, let us know how things are going when/if you get the chance.
