Where in the World are Luke-n-Nick going next?

Don't you have to be back to work soon? Hadn't you better get this next RR going?

690 trip prep:
step 1 - Pack spare voltage regulator - check!

I just stumbled across this RR two days ago. Magic, thanks very much to the two (three [Ben]...four [John]) of you! What a team.

I am prepping myself for a trip and your KTM experiences have strangely reassurred me.....I feel I now know my bike backwards - which is usually how I go about fixing my own bikes.

Now off to read that Mexican report.

Congratulations!!!

Are you guys are still accepting the congratulations about this trip? if yes, then let me also say that...
CONGRATULATIONS... yya

I stumbled upon this RR last week and have been crazily reading your updates whenever I got chance. You guys are rocking and have been very inspirational.

Here in India, I ride a Royal Enfield and surely have my share of the problems, but after seeing your persistence, I am re-energized...

As you guys have always said, "Keep on keeping on..."

RideSafe guys

p.s. absolutely loved the handstand way of celebrations...

Blown away

Wow I'm blown away!

Couple of life lessons too:
  • do not buy that irresistable KTM
  • do go on trip even if it is not the appropriate time
  • value friendship and the inate goodness of mankind
  • do not buy that irresistable KTM
  • Cape Town is great despite your experiences (local boy) - Africa maybe not so great (but different and interesting)
  • do not buy that irresistable KTM

Actually, the lesson would be this.

Buy that irresistable KTM...and at least one extra voltage regulator.

I'm sure you have read all the Colebatch stuff then? Plus the other doing those routes. I can only eat my heart out that I didn't go this direction while I could of. ;-( . Will be interesting to see what bike you will configure up.

What a great read! Found Luke's Mexico RR the other week while I was doing a bit of research on Husky TE610s - and now I've just finished this one and am sitting here with a smile on my face! Great report guys, love your writing style - almost feels as if I'm 'remembering' the trip myself!

Just to mirror what the others have said - thanks for taking the time to write this up, must've been a chore at times but it was a great read. Very entertaining and inspiring. Shame I hadn't seen this at the time else I'd have bought you a cheeseburger in London!

So, anyone want to buy a houseboat in London? I'm off to find a Husky and head East!

Bitter Africa..

Just finished reading the whole report back to back. Must say your spontaneous approach was an eye opener.
Being a Kenyan, I think your trip through Africa would not have left a bitter taste if you'd have done just a bit more research. But in hindsight, where's the fun in that?
