Loving it!

Ditch the sleeping bags. That is quite classic. It's good you were having too much fun to notice!

Love the RR style...."flora", "fauna", "cute".

for next time....

Nope, I reckon that was the dreaded cotton backed water rattler!

Days 11 to 18: Side trip to Canada (by plane).

We managed to turn our route from Reno to Vegas into more than 650 super fun miles of technical trails and scenic dirt roads. It was a route we would love to do again.

Me, after two baths and a long shower at the Aria (not in the fountain). Super comfortable bed with a thick, warm, down blanket, mmmmm.

This is outfit number two of two (number one is my riding/sleeping gear. For really cold nights I add number one to number two). I'll be wearing this sweater and pair of shorts for the next nine days while we're in Canada.

Beautiful Manitoba, Canada. It's a little flatter there.

I'm pushing a "Husqvarna" (lawn mower, that is). I miss my bike.

On our way back to our bikes, yay! View of the waterpocket fold, in Utah. This was part of last summer's route.

Day 19: North on Highway 95 to Mormon Well Road.

Picking up our dearly missed bikes. We left them with Dave - a retired sergeant in a gated community - and his many bikes (thanks, Dave).

Day 20: Continue on Mormon Well Road.

Set an alarm for 5am so we could get up into the mountains before it got too hot. By 8am we were hot and tired so we set up a new camp and went back to sleep.

Day 21: Continue on Mormon Well Road, Highway 93, Highway 168, I-15 north to Mesquite.

Back at it after our rest, yay.

Great two-track.

Saw a palm tree forest fire. The burned up trees looked like cartoon umbrellas that have been struck by lightening; very funny. 105 degree temperature, so we got a motel.

Day 22:

Way too hot to leave this morning. Agreed that we needed to get up even earlier the next morning and then went back to sleep.

We arrived in Vegas 11 days ago and now we're only in Mesquite (an hour outside of Vegas as the car drives). It feels like we're stuck here. Is that what they mean by "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas?"

Day 23: Continue on I-15 north, Utah Highway 9 east to Virgin, left on Kolob Reservoir Road, past Kolob Reservoir, Kolob Road, Right Hand Canyon Road, east on Highway 14.

We got up in the dark. It's still hot but we're out of here. I don't know how long we've been here...

My 250 cc bike cruises at 70 mph, cool.

Heading toward the north end of Zion. It's good to be on the road and back in the mountains again.

Zion is so awesome.

Amazing rock formations.

Spectacular red pavement.

It was difficult to leave this little part of Zion.

Views of Zion in the distance.

Water and trees - a welcome sight.

Lunch above Cedar City,

and a quick nap for Kevin.

Nice wild flowers.

Flower and bee.

Our first camp in the aspens (i'd been yearning for aspens all year).

Dang, where have I been . . . ? this is in full gear and I'm just finding my way in joining the rest of my buddies to travel along with you. Hi guys

I love the flowers and the critters, even the snake taking the dragon fly for a ride (I normally don't like snakes). And that sunset is incredibly beautiful.

I'm in for the ride - subscribed.
