Questor and I have a couple of epic trips planned together this summer. I'm also fortunate enough to be going back to Alaska and seeing the rest of the state in August with the Women's Motorcyclist Foundation--it's a dual-sport fundraiser for breast cancer cures.

Back to Alaska should be fun... I cannot wait to hear about the "couple of epic trips" that are on your plate!!!

MAG runs Mefo Explorer's on her DR-650.
Her tires were put on in Argentina, and lasted the entire Alaska trip as well.
Something like 10K miles.

10K is crazy... but in a good way.. I am gonna have to try some. The last tires on my F650 were only about 4K or so.. TKC's

Heidenau also sells a very good tire called the K60.
It is very simmilar and comes in most sizes.
Rumor has it that it is actually a "sister company" of Mefo.

MAG and I are going to be trying these out this summer.
They can be purchased from Black Dog Cycles.

I will look forward to hearing you guys on the comparison.. A lot of people up this way use the Heidenau K37's on the urals with good results..

I remember reading this RR last year and dreaming about going to Alaska....and that is what did this year and OMG...was amazing. When we got home after 44 days I wanted to rest for a few days and head back out to do out route in reverse. Still do...thanks to this RR and others we got to ride one of our dream rides. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOW, Soph9, 44 days on the road. Sounds delicious. Hopefully you hit less rain than we did--that made it a tough trip always being wet. Plus I was just back from 7 months solo in South America and I was *whooped*. (wait, and that was right after our riding the the TAT and CDT back to back...)

No...we had about 90% rainy days and cold....but no bugs like what you saw....but all in all...depsite weather and stalling issues with the bikes we borrowed from Triumph Canada...the trip was unforgettable and amazing!
