Any inmates want to help a soldier out? (Check out a Bike)

Hey all, I'm deployed to Afghanistan and looking for a second project for when I get home. Originally I was going to buy a VF1000F that was for sale in the Flea Market, but it was sold before I got around to it. Well, I've found a much cooler bike in Florida that I'd love to get a hold of, but I'd really like it if someone could go and check it out for me. The bike is an 84 Kawasaki Turbo 750 and is located in Palm City, FL. Anybody want to look at her for me?

haha fair enough. I just don't want to let this one get out from under me, if in fact it is as nice and original as the guy says it is. Plus, it's hard to remember the weather isn't as shitty there as it is here at the moment.

You got it. I hope you can score the turbo.

Post some pics when you get back to the mainland.

I appreciate it, bud. And thanks for your support... it's a whole 'nother ball game from when my dad was in. He used to tell me stories about how folks would spit on them and call them names when they got home. It's a shame to think about.

As far as checking it out friday, that would be great if you could. I'm still waiting to hear back from the guy to get directions. I'll PM you when I get some.

Well, I checked the bike out, and it is a pearl in the rough. A little bit of elbow grease and a few hours of love and she will be just fine. I have offered to swing by, pick the bike up and store it until JH makes it back to the States. We should have a weekend workshop and doll this baby out before he comes home.... I am working in Fort Lauderdale, but have a place in Kissimmee if any inmates wanna show some goodwill and put in a little effort for one of our finest, I am in!

We coud maybe even have a weekend ride when he gets back to the states?

Let me know if anyone is in and we can work on a date. The gas tank is really rough on the inside, and someone attempted to install a liner with no prep. The liner is peeling loose, but there is another tank. It needs a little work and a shot of paint, if anyone has skills and time to assist there. I am glad to take it apart and put it back together, do a oil change, plugs, etc...

These men sacrifice their time away from family and friends, I feel the least I can do is offer to assist a scooter brethren and I know others feel the same way. Getting this bike ready and running would be cool. Any assistance is greatly appreciated!

Jehicks87, when do you get back stateside?
