So Who's Done The 2-1 Exhaust?
I've got the 2-1 pipe to fit along with the Pyndon pre-filter, but I'm not sure about the 2-1 mod?
I kinda like the twin pipe set up and love the sound too. For you guys who's fitted it, what's your verdidct?Do you like or not? Thanks DG |

I really like the look of the twin pipes and thought a single would look odd. It doesnt. Single pipe looks as good as the twin-pipe - just different.
The sound changes a bit - a bit more like a messerschmitt. ![]() The single can gets a lot hotter (double the exhaust gasses going through it now). But still not as bad as the stock cans (theyre dangerous). There seems to be quite a bigger punch in the lower rpms - which I like. And with the 2-1, you can fit an adv-tank with extra fuel - very very useful. |

I'm really interested in this mod... More low end.... less weight.... What are the draw backs???

i have the full 2-1 and adv-tank kit. my main goal was increasing the range.
the by product is an increased mid range torque. dont elode yourself it is not going to transform the bike into a something completely different. i actually like the new sound better then with the 2 cans. i dont think there is a down side to it i am just not sure it has any real value other then making room for a gas tank...

I did a 2-1, but more of a home-brew version. My mileage is pretty grim. About 25 mpg. Had it in on the dyno to get the carbs sorted, and while they found a lot more power, it hasn't done anything for mileage. Think it might be getting 26 now. I'm seriously thinking about going back to the stock configuration but with aftermarket cans. Folks say that properly tuned, 32-35 or even better isn't unusual. I'm willing to add a couple of pounds of weight back on if I can get that kind of mileage. I think.

i went with the HT-racing 2-into-1 with a FMF pipe. The bike sounds very sweet (raspy), but i'm finding it a li'l too loud of late. I might end up fitting a small baffle/restrictor to reduce the sound levels and for a more permanent solution i want to pick up a used FMF pipe for a 1000cc SBK and then fit a baffle to adjust the sound level to my pleasing.
Adding a rear aux tank for extra range is on the list. overall very pleased with the 2-into-1, the reduction in heat (especially on 50+DegC days !!) and the better sound. can't make out any performance increase (might be more apparent on a dyno)

I like the added range the 2-into-1 allows in combination with a Nedtank.
It seems to have boosted low end torque at the expense of a slight decrease in upper end power. The engine now seems to run out of breath at higher revs, but it's a trade-off I'm OK with.

ADVTanks 2-1
Added It for the weight reduction and the ADVTank.
Sounds great thru a Remus Ti pipe and the range increase is great. Seems a bit more grunty low-end where I need and want power on that machine in the slow stuff. Kurt

I have that same set up. I love the sound and the extra tank for range. I bought the bike with it installed so not sure of the performance diffs. I didn't get it re-mapped and I'm getting 36mpg (mixed riding) to 42 mpg (street riding). I occasionally get a 2000-2500k idle and it occasionally wants to stall on deceleration when cold. If the idle stays high at 2-3K rpm's, a simple turn off key and re-start makes it go away. After reading the stories about 25-30mpg after a re-mapping for a single can, I think I'll just live with the idles issues.

Got a 2-1 with "Fuel" silencer. No noticeable change in MPG, as others have said maybe a bit of a boost to mid range at the expense of top end, but that's very subjective.
I have the UniFilter pre filter, not Pyndon's monster version. Very happy with the whole set up really :) DeeGee, we're in vaguely the same neck of the woods, if you want to have a look at my set up, drop me a pm. Hmm, a thought, are you going to the PJM?

Same set-up I have. The Remus is a little louder than I would like.

I put on the 2 to 1 on my new 990R with the Titanium Akrapovic pipe with just a 1000km on it. Love the new bottom end it produced and with the new snorkle and BMP air filter, doesn't seem to run out at the top end. It has stalled when cold, like yesterday (0 C, or 32 deg). I noticed no one is using the Akrapovic pipes? The sound isn't too loud but gives that feeling of an old muscle car with a V8 under you. And the heat is minuscule in compared to the heavy, lots of metal stock pipes. I thought after a few rides the rear indicators were going to melt off when parking the bike. lol..... they get hot and hold on to the heat for along time.
As for fuel consumption. Hmmm So far pretty dismal. I haven't worked out the figures yet, but the info I do have is for the 19.5 Litres I am getting approx 200km and then it hit reserve. As the weather warms up Ill have it on some longer trips for a more accurate measure. This Bike kicks ass |
