High-Mount Fender Kit For 1999-2006 Triumph Tigers

I have put together a kit which includes:

• (1) Acerbis Honda CRF450 fender (red, black, or silver), modified to fit my mounting bracket. I designed and built the bracket / brace for this particular fender simply because it is the only motocross / enduro fender that I could lay my hands on that was silver.

• (1) .125" thick aluminum mounting bracket / fender brace

• (2) 1.0"x1.250" machined aluminum spacers

• (1) Triumph Tiger front brake hose

• (7) crush washers for the brake hose fittings

• Every nut and bolt required for installation, in stainless steel

• Illustrated instructions

Update May 2013: I'm no longer building or selling these kits. My Tiger was killed in November 2009, so I have no way to test-fit the components. I'll leave the parts list and photos up so you guys can run with the idea and build your own.

Very nice. I got the same fender in black for my V. I think I'm gonna use your idea. The damn thing's been on my shelf since winter. My TKCs will be added when I take it in for it's 15k valve adjustment (that I don't have time to do myself)

What were those tires you had before the TKCs? How do the TKCs compare on dry and wet asphalt to your previous tires? Thanks-

Sorry for the late reply. I don't peruse 'Vendors' too often.

The previous tires were Avon Distanzias, which were adequate for asphalt and well-maintained dirt roads, but left a lot to be desired on single-track, sand, and other un-road conditions.

The TKC's are the only tire I'm ever going to use on this bike now. They perform quite well, even in twisties. They don't grip so well on wet asphalt, but considering it's a fairly aggressive knobby, it does quite well. But like many bikes / parts / bits of gear... an item that tries to do everything excels at nothing. Disclaimer: I was never a knee-dragger, so that's a compromise I'm willing to make.

But they do so much better off-road, that I'll tolerate the shorter life and reduced road grip.

Cool, thanks again. I can grind pegs on my DL1000 with the Anakees, but much like your old Avons, anything really loose or soupy and they stink (although I've done plenty of both with them). I don't need to grind pegs on my Strom, but the Anakees do grip surprisingly on wet asphalt. That may be a bit of adjustment once my TKCs are intalled. We shall see.

Oh, my high fender and superbrace will be added at the same time as the TKCs. I already packed the fender twice with the Anakees, not fun.

I have seen this kit on a 96 Tiger in the pics section. Would it by chance fit a 98 as well? I am very much interested in one. Thanks!

The bracket and hardware will fit a Steamer, although the spacers have to be a bit longer to make the bracket clear the front brake junction block already under the lower triple clamp. And longer spacers mean longer bolts. Not a problem though, it's totally do-able.

Also, the front brake hoses on a Steamer are already split, with one hose down each fork leg. So there's no crossover hose to replace, and no second long hose to buy and install. Therefore a Steamer kit is cheaper than a Girlie kit... $150 USD.

The Steamer kit will also be easier to install, since you don't have to take the front brake hoses off and then bleed the system.
