Thanks for the memories. I have had the pleasyre to ride that route on my R1100GS as well as a friends XR400. Some of the best riding of my 45 yr riding experience. My buddy has a cabin in Cienega de Gonzales.

I made a couple trips down that way in 89 and 90 . Hurricane Gilbert is the reason for the dam , Lots of damage and loss of life . We tried to ride the canyon that year but it was not to be , way to much damage , The road up the canyon to Laguna De Sanchez was washed out , nothing but rocks and logs across the creek in a few places . Been trying to get back for several years now but maybe its not meant to happen , i seems like something major happens every time to screw it up . Thanks for the memories . The water trough was working great 20 years ago . SEYA

Now is the time to come back, before another huricane washes out again the roads.

I'm planing to do very soon a quick weekend ride with tent camping, and some steak grilling, just to run away (for a while) from the damn heat down here in Reynosa.
