I'd like to thank a new friend in Canada for his wonderful donation ... Alastair .. You rock.

And for the mock up ...

I WAS going to use the shock mount on the final drive ... but there really isn't a good shock out there with a 21" length (eye to eye). So ... It looks like I will need to weld on a mount on to the new lengthened swingarm. For eveyone out there .. the swingarm appears to have been lengthened by 4". This makes it VERY close to the length of a GS ..

I swapped a snazzy /2 handle bar for the GS bar Blaine had ... now I'm also into lengthening the bar controls so they will fit the new GS bars ... Adding about 5 inches of wire to each side. The clutch cable and carb cables were already to long ... let's hope they are way to long

I also have found a set of dual plugged heads from an '81 RS ... complete with Dyna coils and ignition booster. They will be used with the cylinders and pistons from that very beast. The Dobber will be a dual plugged 1000cc BEAST.

The Engine from that 81 RS had locked up due to the $2,000 oil ring problem ... one of the connecting rod barings ceased the rod to the crank shaft. As weird as this is ... when we took it apart the crank shaft really didn't have a mark on it ... so I gave it to Brad, and he's currently using it as his engine. Everyone wins!

I'm still looking for that Spoke hub from a GS or a later R bike ... anyone have a lead on one, let me know! I also think I'm going to need a different triple ... but let's get this one riding first

Thanks, Fred

Lemme know when you want to weld on the shock mount. I've got some steel that ought to work out too.

THIS WEEKEND. I gotta get this done. Staring at the Dobber up on a lift like this is making me drool.

Another option are button heads, with their rounded profile it doesn't really matter that they stick out some.

Great build, BTW
