Oklahoma Blizzard 2011

One of the reasons why I moved to Oklahoma was the promise of all-year-round bike riding.

I looked outside the window this morning and saw this beautiful weather:

So I decided to go for a spin:

Got some groceries.

Safely back home:

As of now we have over 12" of snow. Snow drifts go as high as 4ft and it keeps blowing and snowing. If it continues like this I may have to switch from 2 wheels to my ATV

I'm such a whimp!

Way to go! I gotta get a backbone get some knobbies and put the bike out there. I tend to put it up for the winter and opt for the snowmobile. Then again 2 feet of snow is not a big storm for us in the snow belt just east of Lake Ontario. A couple years ago we got 109" in 72 hours!

Lost my Car

This storm is unprecedented. I have lost my car. Will I ever ride again?

Why didn't you just keep the snow in Oklahoma. You let it come up here and I had to shovel about half the day here. With the wind it will probably be just as deep when I get up in the morning. Worst snow we have had since I was a kid I think.

Cry I feel your pain.

We didn't get as much snow as you guys, only 8-9 inches cormpared to 12-14 inches, but we're expecting record low temps of -7 deg farenheit here in NW Ark. Brrrrr. The odd thing is I rode the pig trail last Sat. and it was 77deg. Go figure!

It finally stopped snowing
It may take a while to dig out of it all.

Looks like Chicago is next in line for it.

I applaud your snow-ride to the store. But, remember, you live in Oklahoma. In a week or so, it'll probably all be gone, and everything will be all better.

Us idiots up north will still be waiting for the 5 months of winter to end.

I listened to your AM radio part of the day. Wow. What a storm.
Your newspaper even bagged it because they couldn't get any workers in or paper delivered. First time in history!
We're here in the Colorado Mtn where it will be colder than minus 20 tonight.
My Tiger 1050 is sleeping in the not so warm garage.
Careful shoveling!
